Blackberry Veterinary Center Staff

Dr. Cathy Rahimi cares for all kinds of animals, including cats, dogs, ferrets, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. She also sees the occasional iguana and hedgehog! Each species presents its unique series of issues. Along with providing preventive and medical care, Dr. Rahimi enjoys performing routine and not so routine Laser Surgery. Our newest modality, the therapeutic K-Laser, greatly enhances Blackberry's ability to provide relief and wound healing on a cutting-edge level. When Dr. Rahimi is not here in the clinic, you might find her on the back of her horse Charmer, enjoying an afternoon ride, or watching her children play soccer and football. She and her husband also enjoy musicals, theater and Vikings football.

Dr. Denise Hennigar has been on our staff part time since 2006. She is a 1988 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hennigar has been working in small animal practice since then in Kansas City, Mankato, and the Twin Cities. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy golf, snowmobiling, skiing and travel, and she sings in the Eagan Women of Note.

Dr. Ann Burt has been a relief veterinarian for many years. A 1989 graduate of the University of Minnesota Veterinary School, she has been integrally involved in canine behavior and The Human/Animal Bond. Dr. Burt is active in the B.A.R.T. (Behavior Animal Rescue Training) program. She has four Giant Schnauzers, enjoys fishing, other outdoor activities, and needlework.

Suzanne has been a veterinary technician for 18 years, will most likely be the first person to greet you in our front office. Her skills and knowledge as a technician coupled with her cheerful and efficient manner enable Suzanne to excel as our receptionist. Suzanne has 2 cats, 2 cockatiels, and an umbrella cockatoo named Gabby.

Debbie has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 1980 and has worked at Blackberry since 2004. She is usually in the back assisting in surgery and doing dental cleanings, but loves when she gets the chance to be up front getting to help you and your pets. Debbie's love of animals shows in her exemplary care and handling of her patients. She has shared her home with many kinds of animals over the years and currently has one dog and four cats. During her time away from Blackberry, she loves to walk in the woods enjoying nature and wildlife. Her other hobbies include photography, movies, feeding wild birds, and spending quality time with her family, friends and pets.

Jeanne has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 1979 and has worked at Blackberry since 2005. Her passion is surgery, anesthesia, and post operative care including pain control and physical therapy. Currently, she has dogs, Minnie, the Clinic Greeter, one cat and snakes co-existing at home with her family. In her spare time, Jeanne enjoys singing at weddings and other events and has organized a jazz band.

Kathy has not only been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 1971 and has worked at Blackberry since 2001 (its inception), but also a Practice Manager for 15 years. Kathy's primary job at Blackberry is to manage the practice but she also provides much needed surgical and technical assistance for our patients. Kathy has two dogs in her life and is happy being a wife and mom. Family time and reading are her passions.

Tori graduated from Argosy University as a Veterinary Technician in 2011, and has been at Blackberry since 2008. She will take her certification exam this summer. She owns two dogs, Cali and Tank, and 3 cats. Tori enjoys horseback riding and has been taking lessons for Hunt Seat.

Whitney has been working at Blackberry Vet since 2009, and is still in school at Argosy for Veterinary Technology. She owns three cats and a bird. She is always willing to help with anything that needs to be done.

Amber graduated from Globe University in September of 2011 and passed her certification exam in December. She has two cats, Anais and Avery, who she has had since they were kittens and just recently adopted two rats, Champagne and Shiraz. Amber enjoys meeting all of the clients that come in to the clinic as well as their adorable four legged family members. She also treasures the time she spends with her family while sharing her experiences about caring for your furry friends.
