And of course, Minnie and Sparky begging!

This is "Zoe"! She's rescue from A Rotta Love Plus. She was in the clinic today and she's the sweetist puppy! She needs a home. Visit A Rotta Love if you are interested in Zoe.
The Dental Care & Teeth Cleaning “Munch & Learn” presented Tuesday night, Feb. 29th was a success! We had several attendees who actively participated in the discussion of the topic of home dental care, normal and abnormal mouth/tooth anatomy, oral masses and dental care products. They were also invited to observe a live teeth cleaning of Minnie, our clinic ambassador and greeter.
Minnie with her blood drawn, pre-surgical laboratory tests done and IV catheter placed in her right front leg. She was such a good patient!!
Her kidney, liver tests and blood counts were perfect! During the procedure she was placed on IV fluids to flush the anesthesia from her body more efficiently upon waking up from her procedure. We recommend this on all of our patients who are going under anesthesia, but if the pet is over 7 years of age, we highly advise it! Our concern is for the best outcome of the patient, so even young animals undergoing a “routine” procedure, should have labwork done and an IV catheter placed to alleviate anesthesia risks. Minnie’s outcome was great. She had no extractions and had a quick recovery from anesthesia!
Blackberry provided Sloppy Joes, veggies and dip, and a variety of unique and delicious cheese spreads and crackers for the guests to consume during the presentation. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the evening culminated with a drawing for a FREE dental cleaning for a lucky pet! “Doctor Mew” was our winner, however all guests were given a coupon worth $35.00 off of a teeth cleaning if it was scheduled that evening. Many took advantage of the deal and everyone left with a gift bag of home dental care products.

For Christmas, BBVC adopted an Orangutan, named Rahayu from the Orangutan Project in Australia. Orangutan habitat is being destroyed for collection and use of “palm oil” found in many products. The orangutans of Borneo and Sumatra are nearing extinction, so to help protect them from being the first Great Ape to become extinct in the wild, we have adopted Rahayu. Her story and others can be found at www.orangutan.org.au/orphan-
